London Secondary and Steveston Secondary merged in 2007 and opened in a state-of-the-art, newly rennovated building. The schools 1220 pupils have access to science super-labs, new computer labs, and large music and art studios.

The Arts

Many of the heritage sites preserved by the city of Richmond exist in Gilmore: Pioneer Church, Gilmore Potato Pit, Finn Slough, and Shepherd and McNair Barns.  
 
East of Gilmore is Stevetson Village, retaining the quaint village atmosphere and preserving the London Heritage Farm. In addition, here is where Richmond holds the annual Canada Day parade and Steveston Salmon Festival.

Recreation

This spacious community is home to Richmond Country Club, which offers golf, tennis, athletics, aquatics, and social programming. Golfers will enjoy the challenge of playing on an 18-hole championship course, testing and strengthening their abilities.  
 
Also in the community, Riverside Equestrian Centre is a farm for both boarding horses and riding lessons. Once school’s out, Riverside’s summer camps fill up quickly with children clamouring to gain equestrian skills.

The Outdoors

This little slice of country offers many ways for the community to enjoy the outdoors. Several dedicated bicycle trails and unpaved paths run throughout Gilmore and along the perimeter. The most popular route, Dyke Trail, takes cyclists on a scenic tour along the Fraser River.

Woodward Landing park is 6.25 acres of green-space located directly in Gilmore. Maintained for leisure, visitors come to Woodwards Landing Park for picnicking, camping, and events.
