A few of the elementary schools located close to West Central are Kanaka Creek Elementary and Yennadon Elementary School (located in the Kanaka Creek and Yennadon communities, respectively). Three colleges are located within the city: BCIT, Douglas College, and Sprott Shaw College.

Visitors and residents of the West Central community can enjoy the city’s Arts Centre and Theatre for performing arts venues, the bandstand at Memorial Peace Park, and the Maple Ridge Art Gallery (located in the ACT).
