Located in Maple Ridge, above the neighbourhood of Albion, is the historic community of Webster’s Corners. As the tale goes, the area’s first postmaster, James Murray Webster, often stood at the small intersection to distribute the mail, hence the name ‘Webster’s Corners’ with the ‘s.’ The neighbourhood is packed with heritage buildings, most of which were original homes or community gathering places and were built in the early 1900’s. The Webster’s Corners United Church, for instance, was built in 1912 by a Methodist congregation on donated land.
