Highway 7 runs right along Albion, providing access to nearby Pitt Meadows and Mission. The main through-road is 240th Street, which provides access to most smaller streets and areas within the neighbourhood. The Pitt Meadows Regional Airport is just 2.5 kilometres from Maple Ridge, and is beneficial for those requiring travel by plane.

Schools

Albion is served by the Maple Ridge School District number 42, which operates 18 elementary schools and 5 secondary schools throughout Maple Ridge. Albion children attend Albion Elementary School, which feeds into Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary. There are a variety of private school options throughout Maple Ridge, and higher education options include BCIT, Douglas College, and Sprott Shaw College.

The Arts

Albion residents take advantage of Maple Ridge’s thriving art scene, as well as the numerous historical locations within the area. The Maple Ridge Museum is an excellent place to check out the area’s history, and it features a model railroad diorama, a vintage telephone exchange and more. Plenty of parks throughout the city of Maple Ridge offer prime ground for hiking, cycling and horseback riding, while the city’s six championship golf courses provide a playground for golf aficionados. The Golden Ears Park is an excellent option for those who want to explore, fish, enjoy other water sports and more. It spans 154,540 acres and offers a huge network of trails as well as 400 campsites.

Residents searching for a thrill can enjoy the Pacific Skydivers, located at the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport, or can try out their favourite tricks at the Thomas Haney Skateboarding Park. WildPlay, the perfect place for families with children, offers up swinging ropes, suspension bridges, and other fun attractions and options to enjoy. Albion residents also show up for the various festivals held throughout the city, including the Art in the Park festival held in September, and the Local Art Studios Tour in April.
