On the west side of Vancouver, BC sits an upscale neighborhood by the name South Granville. It boasts of a retail district along Granville Street which needless to say, is one of Vancouver’s busiest thoroughfares.  Driving along Granville Street Bridge south towards 16^TH Avenue, one gets to understand why South Granville has been a major destination for high end shopping year in year out. Major shopping outlets line the street with thousands of people from different corners of the globe shopping for goods. This is one of the main reasons why the community around South Granville is fairly affluent.

South Granville Condos form the bulk of South Granville Real Estate claiming 91% of the pie chart. However, most condos are in the older low rise or rather under 5 stories. As of 2007, the average condo and apartment price was $459,680, a figure that is much higher than Vancouver’s average home price. Detached, single family South Granville Homes are there but they are just a handful. The few that do exist are closer to Shaugnessy and often come with high price tags.
