In the 1980s False Creek was nothing but an industrial area, until the city purchased the land and redeveloped for both Expo ‘86 on the north side and the 2010 Winter Olympics on the south side. Today, there are no shortage of condos for sale in the False Creek, with new developments being built, and plenty of shops and restaurants to support the residents’ needs. The Village on False Creek has recently opened with the premium Craft Beer Market offering over 100 beers on tap and food made from local ingredients and the annual Food Cart Fest providing a constantly rotating supply of unique eats.

The age in False Creek skews relatively younger, with many people investing in their first home in the new crop of condos being built along the south shore. Transportation is plentiful on False Creek, with two separate SkyTrain stations along the shore (Olympic Village and Vancouver Pacific Central) and the Vancouver Aquabus runs inside False Creek servicing all the communities along its shores.
