Recreation
Fintry has been blessed by Mother Nature. There’s the iconic Fintry Provincial Park and Protected Area, which is home to the Okanagan Valley’s most exotic flora and fauna. Within the park is the beautiful Fintry Falls. You can take guided treks here. It’s just 3-minutes away. The community has numerous such nature reserves, mountains and protected parks that are a short drive away. Terrace Mountain (32 miles) and Silver Star Foothills (33 miles) offer amazing hiking and biking trails. You can visit Douglas Lake (56 miles) for a tour of Canada’s largest cattle ranch and farm. There’s the Coral Beach Nature Reserve (46 miles) and Killiney Beach (6 miles away) where you can fish and boat. The closest schools and colleges to Fintry are located within Kelowna city, specifically those on Westside Road. There’s the Westside Parent Participation Preschool, Rose Valley Elementary, Constable Neil Bruce Middle School and Mount Boucherie Secondary School. You can reach these schools within 30 minutes.If you don’t mind driving a little further up to Vernon city, you have other excellent options like As We Grow Preschool, BX Elementary School, Len Wood Middle School and W.L. Seaton Secondary. College students can study at the Okanagan College - Kelowna Campus. Vernon’s Okanagan College is the aerospace campus.
