Several TransLink bus routes run through Port Coquitlam, including the 160 Port Coquitlam Station, Vancouver and the 169 Coquitlam Station and the Braid Station routes. Also available is the SkyTrain West Coast Express Line, which stops at Port Coquitlam Station and offers regular trips to downtown Vancouver and nearby stations. Driving to Downtown Vancouver takes just less than half an hour and the Barnet Highway is the best option for traveling in this manner; Birchland Manor residents simply take Lougheed Highway to reach it.

Also nearby is the Terry Fox Secondary School, James Park Elementary, the King's Driving School, British Columbia Christian Academy and the Minnekhada Middle School.
