One of the most popular subdivisions in the Fleetwood community is Fleetwood Tynehead. Townhouse complexes within this community are typically gated and offer guest suites and club house access. Although Fleetwood is generally known for its quiet residential streets, it is also home to more than 30 parks. Some are well-suited for family play outings, like Maple Green Park, which contains several athletic fields and courts along with a memorable playground. Others offer reflective walking trails, allowing visitors to enjoy Fleetwood’s forests and observe its wildlife (Hemlock Park and Godwin Farm Biodiversity Preserve).

School District 36 Surrey serves Fleetwood. Currently, there are several established elementary schools in the neighbourhood, including Coast Meridian, Coyote Frost Road, Walnut Road, and Woodland Park. The flagship secondary school is Fleetwood Park Secondary, located at 80th Avenue and 156th Street.

Transportation

Built along the historic Fraser Highway, Fleetwood is just minutes away from Surrey’s city centre. What’s more, 152nd Street gives direct access to White Rock and South Surrey in one direction and Vancouver’s Highway 1 in the other. There’s a reason that many commuters have chosen to make Fleetwood their home.

Public transit users also find this suburb to be convenient and well-served, with five bus routes that connect them with the broader Surrey community and also to existing SkyTrain stations. This service will be greatly enhanced in coming years as SkyTrain’s Expo Line will be extended into the Fraser Valley. The current plan is to add three new stations in Fleetwood (152nd Street, 160th Street, and 166th Street), which will bolster the already strong appeal of this beautiful neighbourhood.
