Why you should buy a condo in Cloverdale

Since its foundation at the end of the 19th century, the town of Cloverdale has become very popular among citizens of British Columbia for being the ideal place to enjoy all the comforts of big cities like Vancouver and the safety and tranquility of a small town. This is such an important aspect, that many people chooses to purchase a Cloverdale condo not only for moving in permanently, but also for spending their vacation as well.

When it comes to activities, Cloverdale boasts unique sites and attractions that cater to both families and individuals alike. For example, the famous Surrey Museum is one of the best museums in British Columbia, as is the Fraser Down Racetrack and Casino, which offers adults a great way to spend the weekend. Cloverdale also offers families and sports enthusiasts in general a wide array of recreational facilities, like tennis courts, athletic parks, youth parks, bowling clubs, swimming pools and even a golf course. All of these ensure that anyone who chooses to go for one of the many available Cloverdale condos will have something to do once established in the town. Cloverdale is also an excellent venue for nature lovers and for people who would prefer to go camping, hiking or exploring, all of which can be done at the famous Redwood Park.

And the things that Cloverdale offers people to do and enjoy don’t stop there. The town has also become a popular place for filming commercials, motion pictures and even television series. This is due to the town preserving the architectural style of the 50’s, which helps it convey a “typical American town” feeling. Of all the films and series that take place in the town however, none is more popular than the famous Smallville, which depicts the life and trials of a young Superman, and which uses Cloverdale to represent old Kansas, the town where Superman grew up.

It is because of all of these and because everything can be found in a town that also provides such a safe and serene atmosphere, that looking for Cloverdale condos can turn out to be one of the best investment decisions. And what is more, people who are looking for a comfortable place to live in, will be happily surprised with the distinct feeling of community that they will find in Cloverdale.

Shopping in Cloverdale

Cloverdale’s primary shopping destinations are two major strip malls anchored by grocery stores (Save-on-Foods at one and No Frills at the other). The surrounding stores meet most day-to-day needs. For those eager to sample boutique experiences, Cloverdale’s old downtown neighbourhood contains several unique clothing stores and a highly walkable experience. Larger chain stores are also available at Langley’s Willowbrook Shopping Centre (a 15-minute drive) and Surrey’s Central City shopping district (approximately 20 minutes away).

Lovers of fine cuisine will find that Cloverdale features a diverse range of options. Date night favourites like Annora Restaurant and The Vault offer upscale dining experiences. For a more casual experience, sample the classy pub fare served at The Henry, Hawthorne Beer Market & Bistro, or Rusty’s Neighbourhood Pub. A Fraser Health Public Unit is located centrally off Highway 10, providing vaccinations and support to families. For more serious medical needs, residents can choose between Surrey Memorial Hospital and Langley Memorial Hospital (both approximately 20 minutes away).

Recreation

A state-of-the-art recreation centre is located on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, offering fitness classes, youth programming, seniors events, and more. Cloverdale is also home to the Museum of Surrey, which celebrates the origins of this B.C. suburb and showcases other seasonal exhibits. Beyond that, the Cloverdale Rodeo is a must-see annual event, delivering all sorts of family fun every Victoria Day long weekend.

If you’re looking for outdoor activities, check out one of the neighbourhood’s many parks. The Cloverdale Youth Park offers a skate park, tennis courts, and basketball hoops. Others, like Bose Forest Park, offer wooded trails for pedestrians and a delightful wooden playground.

Education

Served by School District 36 Surrey, Cloverdale has six public elementary schools (A.J. McLellan, George Greenaway, Don Christian, Sunrise Ridge, Martha Currie, and Surrey Centre). Its landmark secondary school campus is Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School. Cloverdale is also the site of KPU Tech, Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s campus that focuses on trade and technology training.

Transportation

Commuters appreciate that Cloverdale is located between two provincial highways. Starting to the East in Langley, Highway 10 connects to major highways 91 and 99, which respectively lead to New Westminster and Richmond. Highway 15 runs North/South and intersects Highway 10 in downtown Cloverdale. It brings drivers from the US/Canada border all the way to Highway 1 and access to Vancouver. Public transportation users have access to three separate bus routes that connect to Langley and the rest of Surrey, including Surrey’s Central City Sky Train stations.
