Squamish is known as a Canadian and European influenced town and was created during the early 1900's. Squamish homes for sale are much more reasonably priced then homes in Whistler and the downtown Vancouver area. The name 'Squamish' originated when the Aboriginal people lived on the land along time before the Europeans came. The inhabitants of the Indian Reserve are considered members of the Squamish Nation rather than governed by the municipality.

In total there are approximately 1200 routes to climb when you include the areas of the Malamute, Murrin Park, The Little Smoke Bluffs and Shannon Falls. All of these rock climbing routes require some experience, possibly a guide and traditional rock climbing protection. There is also water activities to enjoy on the Elaho and Squamish Rivers such as kayaking, rafting, kite surfing and wind surfing.
Families invest in Squamish real estate not only for the reasonable pricing, but also it is a nature lovers area that is safe for children to grow up in. Squamish has elementary schools such as Garibaldi Highlands, Stawamus Elementary, Mamquam, Squamish Elementary and more. For adults there are two universities to choose from such as Quest University Canada and Capilano University. There is also a private kindergarten called Cedar Valley School which is quite famous with new families.
If you want to buy a home in Squamish, but are afraid you will not be close to any religious organizations, do not worry. Squamish has several religious organizations and eleven different churches. If you need to get around, the Squamish transportation system will take you wherever you want to go. Whistler also has a bus service that travels through called the Whistler and Valley Express.
