The small community of North Meadows is nestled in the northern area of the city of Pitt Meadows, with beautiful views of the Golden Ears Mountains in the distance as well as the Alouette River which sits just north of the neighbourhood. Also located nearby is scenic Pitt Lake, with many homes dotting the shore and lots of outdoor activities like fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking available.
Pitt Meadows has an estimated 2014 population of just over 18,000 residents and is expected to increase to over 20,000 by 2020, due in part to a “significant increase in multifamily units” that currently being built and future development, according to the 2011 Census Information Report.

There are also individual retail stores scattered along Lougheed Highway, which sits just north of the North Meadows community.
Restaurants in and around the city include Firehall Bistro, the Jolly Coachman Pub, Vera’s Burger Shack, Kisoji Japanese Restaurant, Stomping Grounds Café & Bistro, Papa Leo’s Pizza, the Loft at Meadow Gardens Golf Club, and Sango Japanese Restaurant. There are also fast food options and many local restaurants are located on Lougheed Highway and inside various malls and shopping centres nearby.
Children of residents in Pitt Meadows are served by School District 42 Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows, with four elementary schools and one secondary school system. Pitt Meadows Secondary School (or P.M.S.S.) is well-known for its sports programs, especially its basketball and hockey teams. The four local elementary schools are Davie Jones Elementary, Highland Park Elementary, Edith McDermott Elementary, and Pitt Meadows Elementary.
The West Coast Express commuter trains connect city residents to nearby Vancouver and Mission, and the Golden Ears Bridge connects Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge to Surrey and Langley. The Pitt Meadows Bridge connects residents to Port Coquitlam to the west.
Pitt Meadows does have a small airport, Pitt Meadows Airport (which opened in 1963), that offers flights to local and regional destinations, as well as offering a skydiving school for locals.
The Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge area is home to several great attractions, including museums, art galleries, and several picturesque golf courses. Local favorites include Leghorn Ranch (popular with families with children), Hopcott Farms, Blue Heron Winery, Cineplex Odeon, Jungle Jac’s Playcentre, and the ACT (the Arts Centre and Theatre) which houses the Maple Ridge Art Gallery.
Golf courses in and around the city include Pitt Meadows Golf Club, Meadow Gardens Golf Course, Golden Eagle Golf Club, Maple Ridge Golf Course, and Meadows Golf and Baseball Centre. There are also lots of great parks to visit, like Pitt Polder Ecological Reserve, Golden Ears Provincial Park, Grant Narrows Regional Park, Kanaka Creek Regional Park, and the Bell-Irving Fish Hatchery.
The North Meadows community boasts excellent schools, plenty of shopping and dining options both in and around the city, low unemployment, affordable housing, and gorgeous scenery. Families and individuals looking to relocate to the neighbourhood can enjoy local parks, golf courses, kid-friendly attractions, fine dining, and much more. And with the projected population explosion, the area could see an increase in property value, home prices, and construction of new multifamily units.
