Employment Opportunities

The Township of Langley has a thriving workforce, supporting more than 50,000 businesses in industries of all kinds. Households in the area bring in an average annual income of nearly $83,500, with the largest number of residents employed in the trade and manufacturing, construction, healthcare and educational services.

Because of the location of the township, it is an excellent candidate for a "bedroom community," a serene and gorgeous neighborhood for those who travel to nearby cities like Surrey, Port Coquitlam and Vancouver for work. Professionals enjoy the larger homes and tight-knit communities while being able to avoid some of the problems that plague larger cities: crowding, traffic, and crime. In recent years, several industries have grown significantly faster than others in the township, including arts and recreation, entertainment, educational services, real estate and public administration.

Shopping/Dining

The residents of Campbell Valley can take advantage of several different shopping locations nearby; taking 16th Avenue west into Surrey will provide access to Grandview Corners and The Shops at Morgan's Crossing which includes the trendiest retailers including Gap and ALDO Shoes. Taking 200th Street north will allow residents to reach the centers and shops along Fraser Highway, including Willowbrook Shopping Centre, which features more than 150 stores.
Also along Fraser Highway is a plethora of dining options; residents enjoy Italian cuisine, Indian fare, Greek and Thai restaurants, and the most popular chain eateries. Cafes and pubs are also dotted here and there, offering specialty selections and freshly brewed coffees and tea.

Transportation

Like most nearby neighborhoods, Campbell Valley's streets are in a grid format. In the southern area of the neighborhood, 0 Avenue provides access to nearby neighborhoods, while 216th Street runs north/south, allowing residents to reach virtually any location in the township. A variety of streets, including 200th Street, provides access to the Trans-Canada Highway, the quickest route to nearby cities like Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Burnaby and Vancouver. This is one of the reasons young professionals appreciate the location of the Langley Township.

Throughout the township, individuals can take advantage of the TransLink buses, which provide access virtually everywhere and have frequent pick-ups. From the Carvolth Exchange near the Trans-Canada Highway and 202nd Street, individuals can access the #555 service, which connects to Langley, Burnaby and Surrey.

Schools

Campbell Valley residents send their children to Glen Valley Elementary, just minutes away from most houses in the neighborhood. There are a couple of different Montessori schools to take advantage of in Campbell Valley as well. Brookswood Secondary or Langley Fundamental Middle Secondary School serve older children, while Trinity Western University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University offer post-secondary education options for adults.

The Arts

Although there isn't a huge art scene in the Township of Langley, residents have access to a great deal of culture and history. In fact, Campbell Valley residents share a neighborhood with the Lochiel Schoolhouse. This one-story, wooden-frame school house is located in the Campbell Valley Regional Park. Built in 1924, it is one of the earliest schools created in British Columbia. It's an amazing way to see firsthand what life (and school) was like in the early 20's. Those who enjoy art can take advantage of options in nearby cities, including the Surrey Museum which is minutes from Campbell Valley and features a kid's museum. Music-lovers can check out the Langley Ukulele Ensemble, one of the more well-known musical acts based in the Township of Langley.

Recreation/Sports

Those in the Campbell Valley neighborhood have a huge amenity just minutes away from their doors in the Campbell Valley Regional Park. With 20km of walking and hiking trails and 14km of horseback riding trails, the park offers up a variety of excellent recreational options. Residents can enjoy their day with a picnic at one of the picnic locations, allow the family pets to play at the off-leash park, hold fun events and meetings at one of the facilities like the Camp Coyote Group Camp or the Old Orchard Picnic Shelter. They can also take advantage of the yearly Country Celebration which features live music, dances, produce, animals, crafts and games.

Golf lovers will enjoy the nearby Brookswood Disc Golf Course located at Langley Passive Park, as well as the Hazelmere Golf and Tennis Club to the north. Trails and dykes are present throughout the township, for those who love to hike, cycle and go horseback riding. The views are simply stunning from nearly anywhere in the township, and there is plenty of fun to be had!
